Standing In Faith...🤲🏿

STAND IN FAITH 🤲🏾

Psalm 69:13 ● "But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Lord. At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of your steadfast love answer me in your saving faithfulness."

Have you ever been in the muck of life so deep that you thought you were going to drown? Do you wonder if God even hears your prayers? Well, that is exactly where David finds himself in this chapter. Obviously, his oppression has been going on for an extended period of time. Regardless, we see in verse 13 that David refuses to pray to anyone or anything other than God Himself. I am certain that David would prefer immediate relief, but he tells God that he is willing to wait on His timing. David knows that God will answer him at an appropriate time to God and His timeline. He knows of God’s love and faithfulness and he is willing to wait on God’s timing.

As I have studied prayer, I have concluded that when we pray, we do not necessarily change God’s mind about anything. When we pray, we conform our way of thinking to His way of thinking. We allow His will to become our will.

The tokens of God's favour to us are enough to keep our spirits from sinking in the deepest outward troubles. If we think well of God, and continue to do so under the greatest hardships, we need not fear but he will do well for us.

As we pray to you O God,

Even as we wait ultimately, for full and final redemption.

We wait, Lord Jesus, for your return, for your inauguration of a new heaven and a new earth.

We are waiting here and longing for your coming. Our eyes grow dim.

We long for you to come.

Come, Lord Jesus, come quickly.

We pray that when you come, you will find us waiting, resting trustfully in you.

Oh God, we come to you with hearts full of thanks.

We pray Psalm 69:3 in Jesus’ name.

Amen 🙏🏾
