Inspiration 👏🏾 & Thought đź’
Colossians. 2:7 ● “Rooted and built up in HIM, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.”
We have to be rooted and built up in CHRIST, like a large tree that is immovable during the storms, winds and rain. Even during the drought season, we are still able to flourish and bear good fruit, because of the strong root system. The most important part of the tree, is underground. The roots aquire nutrients from the ground. “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” (Psalms 1:3).
This 'building' metaphor is constructed by the power of JESUS CHRIST. Only CHRIST can build up or mature a person. We need to strengthen our faith, by exercising it, so we can withstand anything and everything. Like a tree trunk, our faith will grow strong over the years. The more rooted we are, the larger the tree. We must continue in the doctrines and teachings of the BIBLE. The BIBLE is our only authority for our faith, practice and conduct of our lives. It is sufficient, so we don't have to look for divine truth anywhere else.
We need to surrender every area of our life to CHRIST'S LORDSHIP, so we can grow stronger in HIM. “Being confident of this very thing, that HE which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of JESUS CHRIST:” (Phil.1:6). We will be able to see GOD moving in each and every circumstance. Being in GOD'S army means, that we keep marching forward, continue all the days of our lives, to follow Jesus, until we die. We don’t stop.
It is important to be grateful for everything in our life, moreover, we must be thankful for the life GOD has given to us. Apostle Paul was thankful for the good times and bad. He knew that GOD was transforming him, through every trial he faced. He knew, that a heart that is overflowing with thanksgiving, could turn any situation around for the good. He shows how, we can truly be thankful, even in the midst of terrible circumstances, even when he was in a dark prison cell, he used his experience for GOD'S glory.
Giving thanks to GOD, is what keeps our eyes on the ONE whose grace makes it all possible. We sometimes say 'thank you' as a formality without being very sincere. We sing this song with the lyrics ; "Give thanks with a grateful heart", it must be a heartfelt expression of thoughtfulness towards GOD, for what HE has blessed us with. Let us follow Paul's example and adopt the same attitude, being able to praise GOD, no matter what circumstance we're in. We ought to overflow with Gratitude and Thanksgiving, every day of our lives. “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of GOD in CHRIST JESUS concerning you” (1Thes.5:18).
GOD bless you.
Have a super blessed Tuesday in Jesus.
Shalom 🕊
